[EventCalendar] I want to include some but not all events on the front page

Hi,

A long time ago I wanted the same (to put SOME events on the front
page). Then I managed with a patch found here
http://penguin.firetree.net/pipermail/eventcalendar/2006-November/001089.html

Adding this patch changed the behaviour of the "keep events separate"
setting so that events with multiple categories would behave like
normal posts and show up on the front page.

However, since this fix was for a setup on wp < 2.3 it might not work anymore.

Currently what I'm doing is having an extra loop on the front page
querying for events: query_posts('ec3_after=today&showposts=1') - this
way I always keep the current event in focus on the front page.

If you don't want it on the front page all the time, just when you
need the extra focus, you could probably assign a category "special
attention" and make a conditional div, something like:

if exists
query_posts('ec3_after=today&showposts=1&category_name=special-atention') then
create extra loop in a div id="attention" with desired formatting.

Hope this input helps.

Best wishes, Alf Haakon Lund
