[EventCalendar] try to use EC for the first time

Hello,
I am trying to use evend calendar widget to manage Events in a 
'widgettized' site.Installed event calendar 3,added the php in sidebar,I 
see both 'Upcoming events' and 'Calendar events' but I don't see links 
and 'the upcoming event is ,,,' in both calendar and upcoming events 
section.Unfortunately I haven't got an online page to show you the 
issue,so I am asking if I could forget some common steps to make the 
plugin working or on build articles,or stuff like that.
I'm lost..
