[EventCalendar] Keep events separate but show in category/archives?

Hi folks,

I'm wondering if it's possible to keep events separate (per the option), 
but still display past events in the archive and both past and future 
events when viewing the Events category.

Basically, want events to function like posts everywhere except on the 
main page.

Possible?
