[EventCalendar] interacting with subscribe2 plugin

Hi

I would like to use the "Subscribe2" plugin to notify registered  
users of my blog when a new post is published.

My problem is that if it is an event, I can't retrieve the ec3 (start- 
date) and put it into the notification-mail on publishing the post.

Is this because there isn't any data in the table yet - when I push  
the publish button?
I have a feeling that the table is not updatet immediately on pushing  
the publish button....

Could there be a way to "copy" the event-data from the post-page to  
the wp-mail action in the subscribe plugin file?
